TRAVEL AND HONEYMOON GUIDE: BEAUTIFUL DINGLE, IRELAND
I love traveling and exploring new countries, cities, and locations. One of my favorite places to visit is Ireland, and I wanted to share with you one of my favorite small towns, Dingle.
A town located at the westernmost point of Ireland, Dingle is your quintessential Irish small town. A place known for traditional Irish music, you can hear it throughout the evening as you pub hop.
You can’t fully experience a town without tasting food, and Murphy's Ice Cream is top on my list. I am not exaggerating when I say it is the best ice cream I have ever had. Almost everything in the process is locally sourced, from the milk purchased from Kerry Cattle to harvesting sea salt from the Dingle Sea and using distilled rainwater for their sorbets. And if you can’t make it to Dingle to taste it, they also have a location in Dublin.
If you want to grab a pint, Dick Mack’s Brewhouse is a pub that has been serving beer and whiskey since 1899. This isn’t your typical pub; you will find a leather shop on one side and can explore the rooms where the Mac Donnell family once lived for a true Irish experience. You can take a brewery tour or enjoy food trucks and craft beer in the open-air courtyard.
One pub just isn’t enough to fully experience the culture of Dingle, so I suggest stopping by Foxy John’s as well. You might pass it by since it looks like a hardware store, but it is a bar, too. You feel like a true local when sitting at the bar as customers come in and out purchasing items for their home projects at this laid-back bar.
Explore the outdoors at Coumeenole Beach, located at the end of Slea Head Drive. Located on the peninsula, dramatic currents make it a famous surfing break in the country. It is a great place to enjoy an afternoon picnic and take in the views of the Blasket Islands.
