THE EBELL LOS ANGELES WEDDING A MODERN JEWISH AFFIAR

This beautiful Ebell Los Angeles wedding started when Dana and Ian met on his podcast, All Fantasy Everything. The podcast was virtual, but Ian charmed Dana, and they stayed in touch via texting and talking. The pandemic made it impossible for the couple to have a 'real' date, so they had to get creative with getting to know each other and then moved in together because they knew it was meant to be.

Ian set up the perfect first 'official' date was dinner and a movie, but with a private screening of Dana's favorite film, You've Got Mail. Once the movie was over, they ate dessert, and Ian popped the question!

My dress was Sarah Seven — I actually bought it at their Chicago location so I could look with my mom and sisters and had them send it to LA. I knew I wanted classic and timeless. But then our wedding day was 105 degrees, so I ended up with an emergency contingency plan of changing into a Galvan dress I already owned to make it easier (and cooler!) to dance. - Dana

As they began planning, they wanted to incorporate playfulness while honoring their Jewish culture.

Dana and Ian’s advice to couples planning not is to think about what really matters to you, and don't let your family put too much pressure on you.

Processional

“Chateau Lobby #4” by John Misty, played by a live band

Saying our vows together under a beautiful chuppah was one of my favorite memories — we didn't think we would cry as hard as we did. We also loved doing the Hora, looking around, and seeing everyone in the world we love. - Dana + Ian

Recessional

“Ain’t That a Kick in the Head” by Dean Martin

First Dance

“All of Me” by Billie Holiday

We both love tea and one of our favorite tea companies, Smith Tea in Portland, made us a custom blend to celebrate the wedding. We gave out boxes to our guests as favors. - Dana

Dana and Ian's reception incorporates many personalized details from the signature cocktails named after their cats, Eddie and Beetlejuice. They also customized their cocktail napkins with fun facts about the couple's relationship, allowing their guests to get to know them more.
